few words about myself
my name is ANCA LAXER.
i consider myself a visual
artist, consideration based on my previous education, past and present
occupation, and preoccupation.
my academic education long time ago accomplished in my country of origin, Romania, continued to be enriched in Canada, central part and Maritimes where my involvement in different forms of art was consistent.
in addition to my interest in visual arts, i have continuously tried to improve my writing abilities, striving to enrich my English, as a new language.
a visit to Israel, many years ago, influenced my decision to settle here; in Israel creativity switched channels, and words replaced for a long while images.
the comeback to art work was as natural and unexpected as the sudden disengagement from it.
being most of my adult life, twice an immigrant, i could not escape but being influenced and affected by it, in my way of perceiving life and reality.
i am deeply absorbed in disclosing alienation, through both my poems and paintings.
i presently live in Haifa, and my part time job in a small museum, gives me the solid physical and emotional incentive for my creativity
